Political revenge under the guise of corruption probes - Gotabaya

Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa says that ruling party politicians who are only limited to talking and are unable to do any work are now talking about corruption in order to hide their inabilities.
“The Rajapaksas were responsible for creating the atmosphere for them to be able to speak like that today,” he said.
He made these comments while responding to questions from journalists after meeting with Most Ven. Keppetiyagoda Siri Wimala Thera, the Chief Incumbent of Gatambe Sri Rajopawanaramaya in Peradeniya.
He stated that now these politicians have the opportunity to travel to Jaffna, Mannar, Vavuniya or Kilinochchi without any problems and make speeches but back then no President was able to go past Vavuniya.
“They have to think was it not the Rajapaksas that gave them that opportunity.”
The former Defence Secretary also said that the bill for International Convention on Enforced Disappearances, which was postponed by the government, needs to be completely repealed.
He alleged that the bill is a grave injustice to the war heroes who sacrificed their lives to end the war in Sri Lanka.
Rajapaksa also charged that the government is exacting political revenge under the guise of probing corruption
